PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator which does not remain electrostatic charge on a workpiece when a discharge operation of corona discharge is stopped. SOLUTION: The static eliminator 14 has an instruction device 12 for inputting permission or non-permission of the discharge operation of corona discharge at stopping of the discharge operation of a static electricity elimination system 10 including the static eliminator 14, a detection section 14a for detecting permission or non-permission of the discharge operation, and a discharge standstill-time processing section 14c for stopping the corona discharge when detecting non-permission of the discharge operation by the detection section 14a during the corona discharge. The discharge standstill-time processing section 14c can adjust a standstill time so as to stop the discharge operation of the corona discharge at timing when the workpiece is not at an electrified state if the corona discharge is to be stopped.
