The device has a light support (8) fixed in an adjustable way in a light housing (2), where the support comprises two indexing holes (11, 14), respectively receiving two indexing fingers (12, 13) formed directly on a rear light (1) or on an adapter between the rear light and a body shell. The indexing holes are formed in two upper corners of a plate, respectively. The support is fixed in the housing by fixation screws (15) traversing fixation holes realized in the support, where the fixation holes have diameter higher than diameter of the fixation screws. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a rear light for fixing in a housing of a body shell of a motor vehicle (2) a method for mounting and fixing a rear light in a housing of a body shell of a motor vehicle.
