Disclosed is an ionic liquid which has excellent properties for use as an electrolyte material, such as excellent ionic conductivity and a wide potential window, and has excellent safety. Also disclosed is an electrolyte comprising the ionic liquid. Specifically disclosed is an ionic liquid comprising a cyanophosphate anion represented by general formula (1). Also specifically disclosed are an electrolyte and a lithium secondary battery, each of which comprises the ionic liquid.
