The cover (12) has an intake air pipe for supplying fresh air to an engine of a motor vehicle, where the cover is double-walled formation. Reinforcements are passed between walls along a driving direction. Channels (22A, 22B) serve as the air pipe and neighboring regions i.e. sound absorbers (24A, 24B, 24C) that are formed between the channels. The reinforcements are formed for permitting reducing of sound in the neighboring regions, and the sound absorbers are provided with damping material. Openings (28A, 28B) are arranged in the cover for limiting a back window (14) of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an engine cover for a motor vehicle.
