The mechanism (10) has a lower holding disk (28) rotatably mounted at a bearing plate (26). An actuating lever (36) rotates the disk around a rotational axis. A driver (48) includes two driving elements (50) with driving sections to take away cams (52) in two rotational directions, respectively. Each driving element has an inclined contact surface for sliding on the respective cam. The driver is movable from a driving position in which the driving elements are arranged between the cams and against restoring force in a sliding position in which the driving elements are withdrawn from the cams.
