<p>Provided is a continuous casting method, which can exhibit the effect of a multistage taper short-side molding plate in a continuous casting using the plate for any casting width from narrow to wide ones even if the maximum casting rate is high. Further provided are the multistage taper short-side molding plate and a continuous casting apparatus. In the continuous casting operations using the multistage taper short-side molding plate having two or more tapers different in the casting direction, the continuous casting method, the multistage taper short-side molding plate and the continuous casting apparatus are characterized in that the method, the plate and the apparatus satisfy the following formulas (1) and (2), if the maximum casting rate is VM (m/min.), if the distance in the casting direction from the meniscus position to the first taper changing point is a changing point position x (mm), and if x is a function of VM, 50 = x = 300: VM = 2.5 - - - Formula (1) 50 = x = 300 - 200 (VM - 2.5): 2.5 M < 3.75 - - - Formula (2).</p> |
