<p>A method and apparatus for switching play modes are provided in the embodiments of the present invention. The method for switching play modes includes that: a user terminal sends to a media server a connection establishment request carrying media location information; the user terminal receives unicast media data streams sent from the media server, wherein the start position of the unicast media data stream is determined according the media location information. In the embodiments of the present invention, when the user terminal is switched from live mode to live Trick-mode, accurate media location information is carried to the media server, which enables said media server to determine more accurately the position of the media data and thereby ensure continuity when switching.</p> |
