The present invention relates to a method for extracting DNA from microorganisms possibly present in a blood sample, comprising the following steps: i) filtration of a blood sample through a filtration membrane, the pores of which have a diameter ranging from 0.01μm to 50μm, in particular from 0.1μm to 10μm, and most particularly from 0.2μm to 1μm; ii)) washing of said filtration membrane; and iii) extraction of the deoxyribonucleic acids from the microorganisms possibly present on said filtration membrane.
