The circuit (1) has a three-way-pressure reducing valve (18) with an outlet line (22), and a control valve (23) controlling a pressurizing medium connection between the pressure reducing valve and a consumer (4) i.e. clamping cylinder. A scale (56) has an inlet connection (54) and an outlet connection that is connected with a pressure switch. The scale has a controlling piston loaded by comparison and spring pressures of a valve spring. An operation piston (110) of the switch is loaded by the comparison pressure in one direction and by load pressure of the consumer in another direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling a pressure monitoring circuit.
