<p>A ring supporting device (10). The ring supporting device (10) is provided with six support shafts (16a-16f) capable of approaching and separating from the inner walls of metal rings (1). Each of the support shafts (16a-16d) has an exposed side wall having formed thereon annular ridges (24) and grooves (26). The side walls of the support shafts (16e, 16f) each have cushioning materials (40) having a height substantially corresponding to the height of each of the grooves (26). The cushioning materials (40) deform when the inner walls of the metallic rings (1) make contact with the cushioning materials, and this relaxes a force which tries to expand the metallic rings (1) from the inner wall side to the outer wall side.</p> |
