The device (2) is designed to detect mass of fluid (4) and to obtain amount of fluid by considering the mass of the fluid and specific density of the fluid. The mass of the fluid is detected by subtracting tare weight of a fluid container (6) from total weight of the fluid container. The fluid amount is ratio of fluid amount, which is actually present in the fluid container, to the fluid amount which is provided in the fluid container after filling by a fluid manufacturer or a distiller. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for determining an amount of fluid (2) a computer program product comprising a software code for executing a method for determining an amount of fluid.
