The door i.e. up-and-over door (1), has a door leaf laterally guided by a U-shaped guiding element (13a) in association with a vertical guide rail (5). The guiding element is arranged in a lower area of the leaf. The guiding element is designed as a guide roller or a guide block. The guiding element is connected to a counterweight (6) or an element generating counterforce, by a Bowden cable (7). The cable is guided by a fixed deflection roller (12) and is connected to a carriage at a pivot point (17). Another pivot point (16) is provided on the guiding element above the former pivot point.
