An internal beam clamp is described for use in attaching items to girders, beams, rolled steel sections, or the like. It consists of a pair of plates 1, 2 and a short section of strut 3 or similar elongate member. Each plate has means 10 for fitting it into one end of the strut 3 or similar and holding it there. At least one of the plates 1, 2 has a pair of threaded apertures for the receipt of pointed bolts 4, 5 to fix the clamp in place. The fitting means 10 can be a press fit in the strut 3 or secured by a threaded, optionally self-tapping, screw 12. The clamp is easier to install than prior art types because the plates and strut can be held together during installation. |
