<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the access to a non-contact memory even during the recording/reproducing operation in a recording/reproducing device coping with a recording medium furnished with the non-contact memory, by evading the adverse effect to recording/reproducing data due to the magnetic field generated from an antenna at the time of accessing the non-contact memory. SOLUTION: When a tape cassette is loaded, the control information stored in a remote memory chip 4 of this tape cassette is read out and stored in a buffer memory 23 of a tape streamer drive 10 by a memory image of the remote memory chip 4, and after the memory image of the remote memory chip 4 is stored in the buffer memory 23, the operational control is carried out based on the control information read out by accessing the memory image stored in the buffer memory 23, and memory image on the tape cassette is recorded on the remote memory chip 4 during the period other than the access period of the above tape cassette, then a system controller 15 controls to change the memory image stored in the buffer memory 23 so as to coincide with the memory image of the remote memory chip 4.</p> |
