<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase-changeable optical recording medium capable of preventing abnormal mark occurrence, allowing high speed recording of 8X-speed or more of the standard linear velocity of DVDs and downward compatibility and obtaining favorable results on both jitter property and reproducing error property in a wide range of recording linear velocities. <P>SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has at least a first protective layer, a recording layer containing a phase-change material, a second protective layer and a reflective layer which are sequentially layered. The main component of the phase-change material is made of elements and an atomic ratio represented by a composition formula Mn<SB>α1</SB>Sb<SB>β1</SB>Sn<SB>γ1</SB>Ge<SB>δ1</SB>X<SB>ε1</SB>and the main component of the second protective layer contains one selected from zinc oxides, indium oxides and tin oxides, or mixtures thereof, wherein X denotes any one of Te, In, Zn and Bi or a mixture thereof and 0.04≤α1≤0.09, 0.56≤β1≤0.79, 0.05≤γ1≤0.29, 0.03≤δ1≤0.23 and 0≤ε1≤0.09 are satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
