<p>The invention provides a computer network to provide access to data and functionality contained in one or more remote devices, the computer system comprising: two or more devices each containing a real object that allows access to data and provides functionality; and wherein, in use, each device is able to access data and functionality in a remote device by use of a pair of virtual objects, a first virtual object is positioned in the device for communication with the real object, and a second virtual object is positioned in the remote device for communication with the first virtual object.
The virtual object may extract data and functionality from the real object so as to make the data and functionality independent of operating system of the real object. An object may be a software application that can store data and provide functionality in the manipulation of the data.</p> |
