PURPOSE: A ceramic discharge lamp and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to contact a metal unit to a ceramic through only soldering by welding a sealing structure with soldering including titanum. CONSTITUTION: An arc tube(11) comprises a ceramics portion(12) and a metal unit. A discharge gas is sealed inside the arc tube. A brazing material is fixed on the surface of the ceramics portion. A titanum layer is included between the surface of the brazing material and the ceramics portion. The ceramics portion and metal unit(14) are closely combined. The brazing material(20) and titanum layer of the ceramics portion are adhered while being separated from the metal unit.
