摘要 FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: device has an oscillating LC circuit connected to a controlled oscillation frequency generator. The generator is connected through a switch to two resonance frequency memory units which correspond to the measured and unknown lengths of the cable. The resonance frequency memory units are connected to a computer of the unknown cable length on the functional:, where fo is natural frequency of the LC circuit, f1 is resonance frequency corresponding to the measured cable length, fx is resonance frequency corresponding to the unknown cable length to the point of rapture. The unknown length lx is calculated by the computer using the formula: lx = l1F, where: I1 is the measured cable length corresponding to the resonance frequency f1.
