The present invention relates to a system and method for playing a lottery and, more specifically, to a system and method for playing a lottery whereby lottery players are given an additional lottery option of reinvesting their winnings, or potential winnings, for some incentives or rewards offered to the players who take this option, such as a chance to win larger amounts of money or prizes, even with better odds, or being rewarded such as additional lines of numbers for a future draw. Essentially this additional lottery option could be offered and attached to almost any lottery game and would ideally be offered as a player option that could be selected before the draw or after the draw depending on which method is offered for that particular lottery.
