PURPOSE: An optical fiber and an optical fiber cable using thereof are provided to help a user to distinguish the optical cable in dark space by using a colored fluorescent layer on the outmost of the optical fiber cable. CONSTITUTION: A core(111a) is extended along the lengthy directional axis of an optical fiber. A clad(111b) has a refractive index lower than core and surrounds the circumference of the core. A coating layer(111c) surrounds the circumference of the clad. A fluorescent layer(111d) surrounds the circumference of the coating layer.
