PURPOSE: A recording medium, a data record/playback method, and a data record/playback apparatus are provided to enable efficient change of user information in a recording medium recorded with security information. CONSTITUTION: A recording medium comprises a data region(230), an inner zone(210), and an outer zone(220). The data region comprises a security region(232) for recording security information to allow the access of authenticated user only. The inner zone and the outer zone are located in the inner and outer circumference of the data region, respectively. The security information comprises first security information, and second security information. The first security information comprises an authentication factor which is used for identification of user allowed for access to the data region. The second security information comprises a parameter which indicates the location information of the first security information in the security region and whether the first security information is effective or not.
