PURPOSE: A cooling apparatus is provided to prevent damage to a motor coil caused by overload of a compressor even at high exterior temperature over 40°C. CONSTITUTION: A cooling apparatus comprises a compressor(1), a condenser(3), an expansion valve(7a), an evaporator(5), and a liquid heater(4). The liquid heater includes a receiver outlet line(42) in which a first connection line(6a) connected to an inlet line of the expansion valve and a second connection line(6b) connected to a liquid separator inlet line are formed together. A main electronic valve(8a) is installed in the first connection line and switched by a pressure sensor(9a) sensing the pressure of coolant provided from the liquid separator to the compressor. An auxiliary electronic valve(8b) and an auxiliary expansion valve(7b) are installed in the second connection line, wherein the auxiliary electronic valve is switched by a temperature sensor(9b) sensing the temperature of coolant provided from the liquid separator to the compressor and the auxiliary expansion valve rapidly expands the coolant provided through the auxiliary electronic valve to be carried to the liquid separator inlet line. A coolant circulation pipe and a water circulation pipe are installed in the evaporator in a dual structure.
