PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating method of a pipe which is unnecessary for determining the precise positioning of heating instruments and which is capable of removing moisture remaining on the inner face of the pipe with high speed in the pipe inner face heat-treatment as the pretreatment of powder resin coating of the pipe inner face, and to provide equipment for heating the pipe. SOLUTION: The heating method of the pipe comprises installing a gas burner at the inner face of the socket of a cast iron pipe so that flames poured out of the nozzle of the gas burner reaches the inner face of the socket and roasting the inner face of the socket with the flames of the gas burner to heat the same with high speed. The constitution of the heating equipment is provided with the gas burner which jets the flames to the inner face of the pipe from the pipe axial side and a pipe axial direction transferring device to change the relative position relationship of the pipe axial direction between the gas burner and the pipe. The outer diameter of the gas burner is smaller than the inner diameter of the pipe socket and cantilevered by the supporting table for retaining the position and posture of the gas burner.
