The air cushion (20) has an air-tight, elastically deformable casing (24) which is aeratable, inflatable or evacuatable. An elastically deformable foam body (30) is arranged within the casing. The foam body has free surface sections (42,44) which are not connected firmly with the casing and has connected surface sections (40,46,48,50) which are connected firmly with the casing. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a vehicle seat with a seat cushion; and (2) a method for manufacturing an air cushion.
