<p>An electrical device (e.g. an optical disk playback device) can be connected to an external device (e.g. a display device) and has a standby status as a power status. The electrical device is equipped with a mobile member (e.g. a disk tray) (191), which is provided such that the mobile member (191) can go in and out of the main body of said electrical device, and which can move between a protruding position and a contained position; a driving means (10), which drives the mobile member; a detection means (193), which detects whether or not the mobile member is in the contained position; a communication means, which receives various control signals from an external device; a power control means (14), which controls the power status of the electrical device; a control means (14), which controls the driving means to bring the mobile member to the contained position when the power status of the electrical device is changed to the standby status by the power control means. The power control means (14) controls whether or not to change the power status to the standby status in response to the detection results from the detection means when the communication means receives a predetermined control signal.</p> |
