<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized radio wave sensor of low power consumption, excellentin an S/N ratio, which detects accurately existence or a moving state of a detection object existing in front of the sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The radio wave sensor is equipped with: an oscillation circuit 9 for generating a transmission signal; a grounding electrode 2 working as ground of the transmission signal formed approximately on the whole surface of one surface or the inside of a substrate 1 comprising a dielectric; a rectangular transmitting and receiving electrode 31 formed on the other surface for radiating forward the transmission signal as a radio wave beam and for receiving return radio beam after colliding with a detection object and being reflected thereby as a reception signal; a detection element 5 either terminal of which is connected to only the grounding electrode 2, for detecting the reception signal received by the transmitting and receiving electrode 31; and an output line 6 for outputting the reception signal detected by the detection element 5 to the outside.
