<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus obtaining an excellent image by stably transferring toner to a recording paper, thereby preventing an abnormal image such as roughness. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has: image carriers 11Y to 11K carrying a latent image on a surface thereof; developing means 31Y to 31K provided with developer electrifying means 35Y to 35K electrifying developer and developer carriers 32Y to 32K carrying the developer and supplying the developer to the latent image, to develop the latent image; and transfer means 61Y to 61K and 80 transferring a toner image formed on the image carriers 11Y to 11K onto the recording paper P or an intermediate transfer body 50. A toner electrification amount range where a transfer rate is 90% or more is calculated from surface irregularity information discriminated by a paper discriminating means 90 for discriminating the surface irregularity of the recording paper P and when a toner electrification amount detected by an electrification amount detecting means 120 is out of the range, the developer electrifying means 35Y to 35K are controlled so that toner in the developer is in a prescribed toner electrification amount range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
