MARKING METHOD USING LASER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FLAT PANEL DISPLAY USING THE MARKING METHOD, AND MARKING DEVICE USING LASER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking method for preventing cells that constitute a mark from fading when the cells are formed by using a laser beam, to provide a method for manufacturing a flat panel display by the above method, and to provide a marking device.

SOLUTION: The glass marking method and device employ a laser to form a mark comprising a plurality of cells by irradiating the surface of glass W with a laser beam. In the process of forming a predetermined cells by using a laser beam at a first frequency having the energy of pulses required to form the cells and then allowing the laser beam to jump so as to form the subsequent cells, the laser beam is controlled to a second oscillation frequency to decrease the energy of pulses to a degree impossible for engraving to thereby inhibit engraving on the workpiece W with the laser beam during the jumping period.
