<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing occurrence of pin holes over a long period of time without deteriorating the sensitivity or chargeability of a photoreceptor even when a charging step of the surface of the photoreceptor is carried out by means of a discharging in the vicinity of the surface. <P>SOLUTION: The relationship between the layer thickness of a photoreceptor layer (accumulated printed number of sheets) and the amount of static elimination light and the relationship between the layer thickness of the photoreceptor layer (accumulated printed number of sheets) at which drum surface potential V0 is made a prescribed value (e.g. 600V) when the amount of static elimination light is lowered and the charging bias are stored beforehand to ROM92 (or RAM93), a control signal is transmitted to a static elimination lamp 20 and a bias control circuit 41 from a control section 90 according to the counted accumulated printed number of sheets by a counter 95, the amount of static elimination light of the static elimination lamp 20 and the charging bias applied to charging rollers 21 in charging units 2a to 2d are lowered in steps. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
