<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reclining device permitting easy attachment of a spring because of the shape of a shaft. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The spring 6 is formed of a shaft attaching portion 61 and a spring portion 62. The shaft attaching portion 61 has a plate shape, and has an attaching hole 6a. The attaching hole 6a is made into a polygonal shape such as quadrangular shape, like the cross section of a spring attaching part 3 of the shaft 1.
