<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermistor element which can operate stably at a high temperature, and can prevent cracks etc. in an element body validly. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The thermistor element 2 has the element body 4 having two or more built-in internal electrode layers 8a to 8c so as to sandwich a thermistor layer 6 therebetween. In the element body 4, there are formed a pair of connection holes 10a and 10b which reach at least one of the internal electrode layers 8a and 8b, respectively, and extend in a direction crossing planes of the internal electrode layers 8a and 8b. A cushioning electrode film 14 is formed at an inner wall of each of the connection holes 10a and 10b. One-side ends of lead terminals 12a and 12b are inserted into the connection holes 10a and 10b, respectively. The lead terminals 12a and 12b inserted into the connection holes 10a and 10b are connected to the different internal electrode layers 8a and 8b via the cushioning electrode film 14, respectively.
