PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with a rail for the guide of a shoe when a baggage is sorted by the shoe. SOLUTION: In the sorting device 2 provided with a plurality of shoes 5 movable in a direction perpendicular to a conveying direction of the conveyor on a horizontal plane, a magnetic body is provided on a lower part of the shoe 5 and a plurality of electric elements 12, 14, 15 are arranged in the plane-like form below the magnetic body to move the shoe 5. The conveyor is a slat conveyor 4, the shoe 5 is mounted movably in a direction perpendicular to a slat 6 of the slat conveyor 4, and the magnetic body is a permanent magnet. A magnetic connection body for connecting the permanent magnet and the shoe 5 and being not magnetized is provided, and the plane-like magnetic body being not magnetized is arranged on the slat 6 of the slat conveyor 4 with a clearance from the connection body at the permanent magnet side. Further, by moving the shoe 5 at a front side in a conveying direction of the plurality of shoes 5 contacted with the baggage by a large degree and moving the shoe 5 at a rear side in a conveying direction by a small degree, sorting by rotation of the baggage is made switchable.
