The present invention relates to halogenated isoindole compounds which exhibit superior binding affinity to beta-amyloid fibrils, and which are therefore useful for the early diagnosis (and prevention) of degenerative brain diseases including dementia. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing same, and to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds.
