<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect easily and highly accurately an electrolyte included in a catalyst layer, and resultantly to analyze an electrolyte distribution in the catalyst layer, a distribution of catalyst particles, or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes processes for: dipping a structure having an electrolyte composed of a polymer compound having an acid radical and a catalyst part including a catalyst into a solution including probe molecules having a bonding part reactable with the acid radical and a labeled part; and observing the electrolyte included in the catalyst part by detecting the labeled part.
