<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently reduce power consumption during system operation even when RAID (Redundant Arrays of Independent Disks) of level 1. <P>SOLUTION: The disk array device 100 includes: disk parts 22, 24 associated with each other to hold the same data; a memory part 15 holding data written in the disk parts 22, 24; and a disk management part 11 changing at least one of the disk parts 22, 24 from a normal operation state to a low power consumption state, and transferring the data held in the memory part 15 to the disk part 24 to be restored when restoring the disk part 24 to the normal operation state from the low power consumption state.
