PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device which can prevent a camera-shaken image from being captured unexpectedly and optimally perform auxiliary light photographing and camera-shake prevention. SOLUTION: An image pickup part 105 picks up an image by using an image pickup element. A still image electronic camera shake correction part 103 corrects camera-shake by synthesizing a plurality of images picked-up by the image pickup part 105. A flash photographing controller 106 sets pre-light emission or normal light emission during image pickup. In a case where the flash photographing controller 106 sets the normal light emission, when the image pickup part 105 picks up the image in synchronization with the pre-light emission, a photographing controller 104 brings the still image electronic camera-shake correction part 103 into an operating state or a non-operating state on the basis of the luminance value of the picked-up image or the shutter gain of the image pickup element of the image pickup part 105.
