PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electric discharge machining oil for providing a high flash point without degrading electric discharge machining performance. SOLUTION: The electric discharge machining oil is made by mixing at least 20 mass% of ester on the basis of the total amount including a carboxylic acid containing 6-22C and alcohol containing 1-18C, and has a kinematic viscosity of 3-11 mm<SP>2</SP>/cm at 40°C, and the flash point of 200°C or more.
