<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a driver to look up a screen by causing the screen to display an image as with a case of a horizontal orientation even if a receiving device body is fixed horizontally or in an inverted manner from a ceiling. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The receiving device of road traffic information includes: the receiving device body and a supporting device. The receiving device body includes a CPU that receives location and speed data from a GPS module, acquires the road traffic information corresponding to the current location from location registration data memory, acquires a signal from a remote control device and performs control; and a display device visually notifying the road traffic information. The supporting device fixes the receiving device body at any position in a vehicle. An acceleration sensor automatically measuring a positional state of the display device is further provided in the receiving device body. Based on the measurement results of the acceleration sensor, a style of a display image is selected automatically from among a normal display, an inverted display, a clockwise 90-degree-rotated display and a counterclockwise 90-degree-rotated display, according to a measurement results.
