<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recorder simultaneously correct shading of multibeam even in the case of inclined scanning in which scanning is performed while an array direction of multibeam on a scanned surface has a certain angle to a scanning direction. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The optical recorder performs modulation scanning by deflecting a plurality of laser beams emitted from a semiconductor laser array 1 with an optical deflection means having a deflecting and reflecting surface and by condensing the beams on the scanned surface as a light spot with an optical system for scanning. The plurality of laser beams emitted from the semiconductor laser array 1 are nearly collimated by a collimator lens 2, and the plurality of nearly collimated laser beams are condensed by a lens 3. It is configured that quarter wavelength plates 4-1 to 4-4 are each placed near a condensing point of each of the plurality of condensed laser beams, so that a surface perpendicular to an optical axis of each of the quarter wavelength plates has an angle of 45±2° to a polarization direction of the passing condensed laser beams.
