<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying conveyor merging part freight collision prevention system capable of smoothly merging the freights in both systems while simultaneously operating the conveying conveyor of two system comprising a main stream conveyor and a branch conveyor additionally connected to this. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Speed variable conveyors 22 constituted by a plurality of rollers capable of being rotated/driven by independent rotation speed respectively are provided on the main stream conveyor 12 and the branch conveyor 14, and rotation/driving of the respective rollers is independently controlled using passing time information of the freights on the respective conveyors received from a first sensor 16 installed on the main stream conveyor 12 and a second sensor 18 installed on the branch conveyor. As a result, in the freight conveyed from the branch conveyor, a conveying speed is varied on a speed variable conveyor 22, and at the merging part, collision with the freight flowing on the main stream conveyor 12 is avoided.
