<p>A method for directional mining of rock includes the following steps: drilling holes in rock with a thin-wall drill, placing an expansion element (102) in the drilled hole, connecting a working medium source with the working medium inlet (12) of the expansion element (102), expanding the volume of a rubber expansion tube (20) under the pressure of a working medium outward toward the sleeve housing (19) of the expansion element (102), and transmitting directional acting force to the hole wall via the sleeve housing (19) so that the directional force is evenly and effectively applied to the hole wall at the periphery of the expansion element (102), thus directionally cracking the rock. An expansion element used for directional mining of rock includes: a rubber expansion tube (20) fixed at two ends with pipe plugs (7,24), a sleeve housing (19) having a structure of two housing halves provided at the exterior of the rubber expansion tube (20), the pipe plugs (7,24) at two ends fixed with an upper closure (2) and a lower closure (23) respectively, the two ends of the sleeve housing (19) elastically connected with the upper closure (2) and the lower closure (23), a sleeve slider (18) provided between the rubber expansion tube (20) and the sleeve housing (19), an elastomeric seal (10) provided at the upper and lower ends of the rubber expansion tube (20). Compared with the rock cracking technology in the prior art, the present method simplifies the rock cracking procedure, improves productivity, reduces labor intensity, and takes less time.</p> |
