<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set the optimally-adjusted value of all the optical heads for all the recording layers of the optical disks within a short time period, in an optical disk drive recording and reproducing information on an optical disk having a number of recording layers and incorporating a plurality of optical heads. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk drive 1 simultaneously makes calibration of all the optical heads to the recording layer L0. The optical disk drive 1 simultaneously makes the calibration of only the optical heads 3B, 3C, 3D respectively to the recording layers L1, L2, L3. The operation section 17 calculates the optimally-adjusted value for the combinations of optical heads not calibrated as shown in the optimally-adjusted value table TBL1 and the recording layers, based on the corresponding relation between the optimally-adjusted value of the two sets of the recording layers of the optical disk in the predetermined optical head. Thus, the optical disk drive 1 can reduce the calibration frequency of the optical heads to the recording layers of the optical disk in the optical head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
