<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell stack of a horizontal solid oxide fuel cell having high long-term reliability, and to provide a fuel cell using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The cell stack of the horizontal solid oxide fuel cell includes cell stack connecting members 15a, 15b and a plurality of cells 13 of the fuel cell having multilayer construction on the surface 11a and the back 11b of a support 11, and a first current passage through which current generated by power generation of the unit cell 13 flows from the cell stack connecting member 15a to the cell stack connecting member 15b through the unit cell 13 arranged on one end side, and a second current passage through which the current flows from the cell stack connecting member 15a to the cell stack connecting member 15b through the unit cell 13 arranged on the other end side.
