摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an atomic oscillator enabling atomic groups with resonant light wavelength distribution due to Doppler broadening to generate an EIT phenomenon efficiently. SOLUTION: The atomic oscillator is configured with: an LD2 for emitting resonance light beams; a central wavelength generation means 1 for generating the central wavelength of the LD2; an oscillator 9 for oscillating at a frequency that is a half of the frequency corresponding to energy difference (ΔE12) between two different ground states; an oscillator 10 for oscillating at a frequency that is small enough with respect to Doppler broadening; EOMs (electro-optic modulator) 3, 4 for modulating the frequency of the resonance light beam 11 emitted by the LD2; a gas cell 5 filled with gaseous alkaline metal (cesium) atoms, for changing light absorption amount by the wavelength of the light beam 12 modulated by the EOM 4; a photo-detector (light beam detection means) 6 for detecting a light beam 13 transmitting from the gas cell 5; and a frequency control means 7 for controlling an output voltage by detecting an EIT state of the gas cell 5 based on the output of the photo-detector 6.
