<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive lens barrel which can be downsized, and whose structure is simple, which can improve operability by quickly executing a focus operation by simple control. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A focus instruction member 70 which is operated by a user is attached to a zoom lens barrel 20 constituted so that a photographing area can be changed in order to switch photographing areas. The focal operation for focusing an object image by performing the moving operation of a focus lens is performed to the zoom lens barrel 20. A movable range when the focus lens is moved for a focal mechanism to focus the object image is set to a focusing possible narrow range corresponding to the photographing area specified by the focus instruction member by the setting means of a focusing possible range.
