<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which has no possibility of performing a useless printing on a roll paper and does not cause deterioration in operability of the printing apparatus due to the restriction of the users of the printing apparatus equally in the printing apparatus for recording image information on the roll paper. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the printing apparatus for recording the image information on the roll paper, the printing apparatus includes: a means for setting or changing a printing condition which enables printing on the roll paper; a printing condition holding means for holding the printing condition set or changed; and a recording means for recording the printing condition held by the printing condition holding means on the roll paper when the roll paper is taken out of the printing apparatus or the electric power source of the printing apparatus is turned OFF.
