PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin for a chemical toner, the resin having good solubility with a solvent used in the production of a toner by a chemical method and having superior dispersibility of a synthesized ester wax in a solution. SOLUTION: The polyester resin for the chemical toner is obtained by polymerizing a polyvalent carboxylic acid and a polyhydric alcohol in the presence of an ester wax which is synthesized from an aliphatic alcohol and a 12-22C fatty acid, wherein a THF insoluble content is less than 1 mass%.
