PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-molecular-weight polytetrafluoroethylene powder capable of forming a coating film excellent in smoothness when used as an additive in a paint, a manufacturing method thereof, a low-molecular-weight polytetrafluoroethylene gelled powder, and a paint for a fixing member. SOLUTION: The low-molecular-weight polytetrafluoroethylene powder has a 50% average particle size of ≤3 μm determined by a dry laser method, contains a powder with a particle size of ≤1 μm, has a melt viscosity of ≤2,500 Pa s determined at 340°C using a flow tester and is obtained by suspension polymerization.
