The invention relates to a method for locating at least one fluorescent marker in a scattering medium, in which : a) at least one marker is inserted into said medium ; b) a fluorescence image is obtained by infrared excitation of the medium along a first axis, the image comprising a fluorescence component due to the marker and a self-fluorescence due to a portion of the medium other than the markers; c) the image is processed by factorisation into two non-negative matrices A and S; d) an image of the marker(s) distribution is determined without the self-fluorescence component.
