<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery data generating apparatus that is capable of generating embroidery data to sew an embroidery pattern having a dynamic impression that brings to life features of moving images. <P>SOLUTION: In the embroidery data generating apparatus, an optionally designated object frame and reference frames before and after the object frame among a plurality of continuous frames constituting animation data are input (S1). On the basis of the characteristic point of an arrow pattern included in the object frame and the characteristic points of arrow patterns included in the reference frames, a displacement vector when the arrow patterns are displaced are obtained (S3 and S5).
